CiRBA Names Cynthia Bliss Chief
Financial Officer
Former Executive Risk Group CFO Joins Management Team to Focus on Growth
Toronto, Ontario – September 24, 2008

With more than 27 years of experience as a senior financial executive focusing on growth, start-up and restructuring situations with large and small enterprises, Bliss comes to CiRBA from the Executive Risk Group, a casualty insurer supported by Lloyd’s of London. While serving as CFO at Executive Risk Group, she assisted in launching the company and implemented numerous mission critical systems as well as helped raise private equity funding. In her former role, Bliss was instrumental in developing business plans; played a key role in negotiating the contract with Lloyd’s of London syndicates and shareholders’ agreements, and raising funds from investors; and established the corporate development function.
Bliss held similar positions at Proponix, an independent in-sourcing company in Toronto, where she managed corporate services and infrastructure throughout Canada, Australia, Hong Kong and the U.S., and for various business units at Royal Bank of Canada, where she spent over a decade working in the Wealth Management division. A chartered accountant, Bliss holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the Michael G. DeGroote School of Business at McMaster University and is a member of the board of directors of St. Stephen’s Community House.
